Black Friday in Spain is a shopping observance imported from the United States that traditionally falls on the fourth Friday of November – the day after American Thanksgiving. It is not a public holiday, but many people do “celebrate” it by going shopping at malls and online.

During the 2010s, the unofficial holiday Black Friday spread like wildfire all around the globe. What was once almost exclusively a US event is now observed in one way or another in 50 to 60 percent of the nations of the world.
Since 2012, Black Friday sales have been going on in Spain, growing each successive year. Additionally, Cyber Monday on the Monday following Black Friday has become a Spanish online sales event.
